Fat ‘smack yo mama’ pork butt
AKA: Boston Butt, Pork Shoulder
BBQ Rub of choice
6 oz Pineapple juice (optional)
Unwrap the Butt and give it a good smack. Let it know what’s up.
Cover the meat in BBQ rub. If you want to be Plane Jane, then just do a salt & pepper rub. Or skip this altogether.
Plop it in the slow cooker. Set the crock pot for at least 8 hours. The lower the heat and longer the cooking time, the more tender.
For added flavor, add Pineapple juice. Or a tablespoon of Apple cider vinegar. It will break down the meat a little more and make it more flavorful. Optional.
Shred. After the meat is cooked through, take 2 forks and go to town destroying the beast while it’s sitting in those juices.
Eat! Toss BBQ sauce on it or eat as is!
Great for tacos, pulled pork sammies, southwest egg scrambles. It’s generally a cheap meat that tastes great and stretches across many meals and feeds many mouths.
